I wrote this song many years ago and never really did anything official with it. I recorded a terrible demo of it with just piano and a drum loop and a really bad fake guitar sound just to lay down the idea for the song. Now that I have better equipment and much better instruments, I thought it would be time to give this song the life it deserves.

It's inspiration comes from a neighbor we had at one point. While the neighbor had an autistic son, I decided to make the song about a daughter, as I took a few liberties with the lyrics that weren't true about the neighbor. Basically, the idea of this song is sometimes we see the world through cynical, tired eyes. But this world was created by God. It is beautiful. The fictional child in this song sees the world through much different eyes than you or I might see it. Sometimes it would be nice to see the world that way...the way God intended it.

Some say she lives in her own little world
Her world seems to be such a simple little place
You can almost see it on her tiny little face

She sees the world through her simple eyes
She always laughs and rarely cries
She does not understand like the other kids I know
She does not realize that it’s her mind that is slow

Yet the world she sees is a simple one
I sometimes wish that I could see it too, oh yeah
In her world, there is only fun
No worries, no troubles, (and) no one else’s point of view

I see the world through my cynical eyes
I’m told to laugh, because there’s no time to cry
I do not understand the dead hand of the past
Yet I do not realize that this world is too fast

I wish the world that I could see would be a simple one
With no worries, no troubles no one else’s point of view
But in my world there’s no time for fun
Only worries, troubles and too much work to do today. (repeat)
